Opus X Cigars are some of the most unique, rare, and sought after cigars in the world. This has been validated by the majority of cigar aficionados in the different parts of the world. The Opus X Cigars are basically Dominican Puro cigars. These cigars were first made by a man named Arturo Fuente; therefore, it is not surprising that these cigars are usually referred to as Arturo Fuente Opus X Cigars. They were one of the first ultra premium cigars. Their uniqueness has made them useful as a marketing tool for Arturo Fuente.  There are different types, sizes, and shapes of the Opus X cigars and all very high quality. Some examples include the Opus X Dan Marino Football Cigar, a 6 x 160 cigar that is shaped like a football with laces. Another example is the Sammy Sosa Baseball Bat cigar which is shaped like a baseball bat. There are also cigars that have been named after many celebrities like the Opus X Crowning Glory and the Opus X Trump which has been named after John Paul the second. These cigars are usually made in very limited quantities; this explains why it is hard to find the regular Opus X line. The Opus X cigar retails at $30 a stick given the fact that the quality is second to none.

These cigars are made with a silky Rosado wrapper which is usually also grown on Arturo Fuente’s organic tobacco plantation. This plantation, referred to as the Chateau de la Fuente, is located in a very remote location in the Dominican Republic. The tobacco farm is located on a tropical river valley which is ideal for tobacco growth. Before the Fuente’s family successfully grew such a wrapper in the Dominican Republic, there had been many failed attempts. The previous failed attempts were credited to the topography as the wrapper leaves needed to be at the fields longer to endure exposure to the sun and other climatic conditions. The unique wrapper was then named Opus, which is a Latin word meaning a task of a life time, creative work or masterpiece.

The Opus X cigars are examples of medium-full bodied cigars. They are very strong and are usually said to have some spice because they are very smooth and have an overall creaminess to them.

This cigar is a success story of how a family in the Dominican Republic overcame the various climatic challenges to take advantage of the best and fertile soils as far as the growth of tobacco is concerned. The soils in the island have been found to be very rich and fertile and have been found to nurture very healthy, flavorful, and robust binder tobacco and fillers. The growth of the wrapper leaves should never be rushed because they need time to soak nutrients from the soils.  This cigar comes in many different lines that offer a near perfect smoke in all brands.
